MoonDriver – The Moon on Your Desktop
If you are secretly a werewolf and you need to stay up to date on info like what phase the Moon is in, or if you simply have a fascination for Earth’s only natural satellite, then you need to take a look at the ProZone Corporation-developed application Moon Driver. After you download and install the application on your Windows powered PC, you will see the Moon on your desktop.
It is a floating window that displays the current phase of the Moon. You can drag and drop the floating window anywhere on your monitor. The images of the Moon are based on pictures taken by Michael Myers – no, not the Michael Myers fictional character from the Halloween series of slasher films, the acclaimed photographer Michael Myers.
If you right click the Moon floating window on your desktop, you will have access to the following:
Resize – increase or decrease the size of the floating window.
Tinting – choose if you want a bluish, a reddish, or a yellowish tint; or no tint at all.
Upcoming phases – view the Moon’s upcoming phases. From this menu I found that on the 18th of April there will be a full moon.
Daylight Moon – makes the dark part of the Moon disappear, only the lit portion is visible . It looks like the Moon in the daylight sky (here's an example).
Reset position – resets the floating window to a default position (top left hand corner)
Always on top – check this option and the floating window will always be on top of other windows.
Southern hemisphere – check this option if you need to view the Moon phases for the southern hemisphere.
Cool Moon Links – click this and your browser will launch and you will be presented with a few links to some cool sites.
Enter License Codes – the Moon Driver application is not freeware; you will need to get a license to keep using it after the 14-day trial period.
About Moon Driver – view some details about MoonDriver.
User Manual – access the user manual, what else.
Exit MoonDriver – close the application.
After installing MoonDriver on your PC you will notice a MoonDriver icon in the system tray. Left click it once to bring the floating MoonDriver window to focus. Right click the system tray icon to access the same options you would access by right clicking the floating MoonDriver window (the ones presented above).
MoonDriver is a handy and easy to use application that does one thing and does it well – it keeps you up to date on the phases of the moon.
